Pratyangira Devi Temple at Pondicherry

Pratyangira Devi Temple is located outside city of Pondicherry near Auroville. The place is known as Moratandi also the tollgate is present at that place. It is located towards Chennai road from Pondicherry. The road leading to the temple is not fully developed but you can manage the travel in a vehicle.

This temple consists of 72 feet idol of Goddess Pratyangira Devi. The temple is located  slightly underground.

Left side of the temple contain Sharabeshwar temple which has big idol of God Sharabeshwar.

Sri Pratyangira Temple, Hosur

Sri Pratyangira Temple is located outskirts of Hosur besides towards on the Salem road. We can visit this temple by taking auto's from Hosur bus stand. The biggest Pratyangira statue is present on the rajagopuram of the temple.  The main entrance of the temple contain the big Lion's mouth open wide enough to go inside the temple. They will conduct Pratyangira homa only on the full moon day. Also this temple contain Rahu-Ketu statue to do pooja’s.

Hasanamba Temple festival will begin on 16th October 2014

Hasanamba temple is opened only for a few days in a year during the Hindu month of Ashwayuja . This year, the temple will be opened in the presence of district officers on October 16 and closed on 25. The devotees will have the opportunity to have  the darshan of the deity only for eight days, excluding the first and the last days. And the doors of the temple will be opened at 12.30 p.m. on October 16. The schedule of events during the week-long festivities at the temple has been displayed at many places in the city for the benefit of people.

The people can have the darshan between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. and again from 3 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. Special tickets priced at Rs. 250 each would be made available to those, who wish to avoid standing in queues.

Story: Once when the seven Maatrukes (Brahmi, Maheshwari, Kaumari, Vyshnavi, Varahi, Indrani and Chamundi) came floating to the South of India, they were taken aback by the beauty of Hassan and decided to make it their home forever. Maheshwari, Kaumari, and Vyshnavi took residence in the three anthills inside the temple; Brahmi in Kenchamma's Hosakote; while Indrani, Varahi and Chamundi chose the three wells in Devigere Honda.

Miracles: The Nandaa Deepa (a ghee lit lamp) which burns through out the year, with the ghee never depleting. The anna naivedya(rice offering) offered at the time of closing the door stays warm and unspoiled when the door is open again, a year later. The bale kandu(banana stem) and flowers offered to the goddess remains fresh through out the year.
